Vintage Teak Console Table Trellis

Even by the standards of one-off vintage pieces from India, this is an unusual piece of furniture, both in terms of size (large) and style.  It is a fairly unremarkable console table in grey, apart from the decorative white-painted woodwork at the front, which looks like trellis.

Given its dimensions, it would need a big space to work as a standalone console table.  In our showroom, we have put it against a wall behind a sofa, where it gives the pleasing (in our view) impression of being a mantelpiece.  It is long enough for a couple of lamps, and the 44cm depth is easily wide enough for not only the lamps, but photo frames, candles, ornaments etc.   It has been quietly performing this function in the background of many of our photo shoots.
