Eglomisé Chest of Drawers

From our Private Collection, we have a beautiful pair of custom-made églomisé chests, each with three drawers, finished with antiqued brass knobs and gilded wood framing.   These are unique pieces of art, and would look stunning in a living room or as a stylish pair of nightstands.

'Eglomisé ' is a decorative technique in which gold or silver leaf is applied to the back of glass, often with designs etched or painted on it, creating a rich mirrored surface.   The name comes from the 18th-century French decorator Jean-Baptiste Glomy, althouth the technique dates back far earlier.
