Reproduction Armchair in the Style of Jean Royère
The French designer Jean Royère, known for his “elegance, playfulness and comfort”, designed this wingback armchair in the early 1950s. Royère’s original creations can sell for millions of (United States) dollars, and this particular style is very rare, reaching in excess of US$200,000 when it does appear at auction. Alas, we do not have an original, but instead a pair of beautifully made reproductions, crafted by hand, by the New York based Shawn Henderson Interior Design, with meticulous attention to detail. The frame is made of oak and the seat is a soft and fine leather in a subtle shade of dusty rose . We can find no better words than ‘elegant, playful and comfortable’ to describe them.
